I could not stop reading this book. Petrah has new challenges. An Emperor that he is trying to council. Matters of the heart. A new friend that keeps him on his toes. Each and every book in this series is a fantastic read. Steve is a wonderful author. I enjoy how he writes his stories. I feel like I'm right there with the characters in the story. This is a must read. I highly recommend this series.
This author has surprised me, I admit I got an ARC copy of this, it was so much more than I expected. The characters are extremely complex, the plot is unusual, and you even find yourself having some sympathy or at least understanding for some of the worst characters.I'm not going to spoil it for you, but if you like alternate universe stories that have action and intelligence, good editing and a story line that keeps you wanting to know what happens next. Buy it!You won't be disappointed.I am eagerly waiting for the next book.
Petrah and Ajoon continue on their quest. They need to get to Queen. Things get quite complicated with them both when Petrah is tested and the results are surprising to some. Petrah and Ajoon feelings tend to grow but there is a bit of a complication. The rest of Petrahs companions are having their own troubles to deal with. When Petrah and Ajoon get to The Shrine of San things get pretty bad and choices have to be made. Unpredictable and intense moments. Another great book in the series.
Having escaped his brother, Petrah attempts to run from his destiny. His feelings for Nina stubbornly hang on, even after she is promised to another. Will his business trip with his friends give him the distraction he is hoping for? Or, will the trip show him how futile it is to run from his destiny? Find out in this next exciting book in the series!
This book takes petrah on so many twists and turns in his life. From the spring of love to devastation. From new life to death.
It was a slow start BUT (half way into it) it became addictive! Loved the pace, the plot and character evolution. It was a GREAT although I will say I expected a better book closure into the next book! Yet, I’m craving for more!
Fantastic reading as usual, Petra is growing and changing. Who and what will he become? You have to read this. Not saying anything more about the plot for fear of spoilers. Can hardly wait for the next book.
Good story with sufficient action to ensure your interest doesn't wane. It is easy to see that it emulates our our fallen who rebelled against God and heaven
I really enjoyed being a part of Petrah and Ajoon's journey. This book is very well written and I enjoyed all the characters. They have a wonderful journey they experience. There are a few obstacles, but together they work through them. There is quite a cliffhanger at the end. I'm so curious to read the next book. I will be anxiously waiting for it. Steve is a very wonderful author. I highly recommend this book. Enjoy this magical adventure everyone. It's a very wonderful read.
What a ride! The YA angst of this book is real. Love the premise and the drama. Ten out of ten would recommend. Gave me a Harry Potter vibe. But I liked this more.
If you liked the earlier books in this series, you will *NOT* be disapointed by this one!
This book is a very wonderful intense journey with the war coming. Petrah knows what is coming and does his best to convince everyone to join the fight to save Meerjurmeh's and Con-jurah and the people he cares about. Will it be enough? Will they listen and act in time.Steve has written another great story that keeps you on the edge of your seat with breath held as you turn the pages of this wonderful book. I laughed and cried and prayed throughout this story for the light to win over the darkness. This book is very well written and all the characters are well developed. Creating a suspenseful story full of adventure and strong magic, friendships that hold strong, unbound love within the friendship and matters of the heart.I highly recommend this book and this series. I'm so very thankful to the light of Jah that there is another book to follow. The ending hand me yelling no no no.This is definitely a must read series for all the lovers of this genre. Steve is a fantastic author.
Likeable characters, thoughtful worldbuilding, magic, and machinations make for an engaging story. Petrah starts as a Draadi slave, but soon learns he is something more. He struggles and grows and has to make some tough choices. A good read that will make you curious for what happens next.
this was a great start to the Light of Darkness series, it does a great job in introducing this world and the characters within. I enjoyed getting to read this and see the world. I can't wait to read more in this world and from Steve Pantazis .I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The story continues with Petrah when he returns from death and his friends know war is coming and the epic showdown between Petrah and his brother Aman is imminent. This battle isn’t just a clash of swords and spells; it’s a confrontation of ideologies, destinies, and brotherly bonds. The stakes are enormous, as the fate of the kingdom and the lives of those Petrah loves hangs in the balance. This climax is intense and emotionally charged, marking a pivotal moment in the series where the true strength of the characters is tested.
Set in the war-torn world of Acia, the story follows Petrah, a determined young hero who stands against his brother Aman’s brutal campaign to annihilate Meerjurmeh, a desert nation revered by followers of the God of Light. With alliances shattered and his beloved Mina grieving, Petrah must confront not only his brother but the dark fate that threatens to consume them all. This climactic volume promises high-stakes battles, emotional depth, and a powerful exploration of choice versus destiny. If you're drawn to richly imagined worlds and character-driven fantasy, this might be a compelling read.
The author hits that perfect balance between great world-building and keeping the story moving! A very enjoyable read! I can't wait to see where the story goes from here!
A must read series!
I really enjoyed this book. It was as a powerful reminder of the resilience of the human spirit and our ability to find hope and redemption even in the darkest of times.
Petrah continues to have to overcome so much. He is realizing he is more powerful than he thought. The Watcher still wants him and he knows he needs to avoid the Watcher at all cost. When he ends up in Kushan things get pretty intense and things change quickly. Ajoon is drawn into something that will put her life in danger and she needs to contact Petrah for help. There are so many great and intense moments within the book and it will keep you reading till the end.
Petrah goes to Hovar to spy for his master. His feeling for Mina is becoming stronger but he knows her father won’t approve. Petrah and his friends are being drawn to Darkforth and not without trials and obstacles that they have to overcome. When Petrah reaches the portal with the Watcher he has to make a choice to go through or not. But his friends have to decide also. A great page turner and was hard to put down. Looking forward to see where the characters end up.
Another great entry in the series that both expands the world(s) and raises the stakes!
I really like this book and it's very exciting that there are more in this series because I am left at the end of the book really eager to find out what happens next.
I’m not able to sit and read this book in one sitting, and I’m on pins and needles to find the ending! The author is an amazing writer, and you won’t go wrong reading his works.
Third installment of an epic tale.Wonderful story, if you read between the lines its a bit of a creepy, but very interesting premise. What if the people of the World believed? Nope, no spoilers. If you like alternate reality, A bit of pathos, A bit of pure creepy, and human monsters mixed with supernatural influences you gotta read these!Buy, read and enjoy
An overall enjoyable read that I can't wait to see what is in store for these characters.
A mysterious kid with no memory (and definitely some secret power and/or lineage he's forgotten) gets thrown into slavery, and from there it's a wild sword and sorcery adventure. Good editing and leaves you wanting more, and a non-medieval setting that leaves it feeling fresh. Also the villains were very engaging which is hard to pull off. Definitely pumped for the next one :)
I loved this story! It wasn’t a keep me up all night book, but I eagerly reached for it the next day. I am well past the young adult ages, but the story is suspenseful and full of emotions young adults may feel.
This series is so much fun to read with lots of action and the descriptions of the environment makes the reader feel that they are really there in the story. The food descriptions makes the reader feel hungry and that the food described is just what they need right now...I can almost smell the food the descriptions were that good.!
